Can You Win Real Money from Slingo Bonuses?

But it’s important to note that all bonuses (at Slingo and at other online casinos) come with terms and conditions. In order to claim any money you win as a result of a bonus, you will need to meet these conditions. And of course, you’ll also need to be lucky to win, since all outcomes in gambling are down to chance.

What Is Slingo?

First things first – what exactly is Slingo? In case you haven’t played it before, we’ll explain how it works. Slingo is essentially a series of online games that blend elements of slots and bingo together in a simple format to create a fun new way to play. Most Slingo games are played on a 5x5 grid filled with numbers  – a little like a bingo card. 

A reel at the bottom of the grid is filled with numbers and other symbols (such as Wilds or Super Wilds), and the aim of the game is to match up symbols on the reels with those on the grid.

You might come across some other Slingo bonuses that don’t require a deposit – for example, 10 free spins on a certain game for new registering players, no deposit necessary. 

The Small Print

It’s certainly possible to win real money from bonuses (at Slingo, and at other casinos like Spin Genie), but it’s important to read the small print so that you understand how bonus winnings can be withdrawn.

Let’s take a look at the small print for a real offer that Slingo have on their site at the time of writing:

“Claim 133 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza when you make your first deposit (min. £10) at Slingo!

Automatically credited on 1st Deposit (min £10). Game: Big Bass Bonanza, Spin Value: £0.1. WR 60x free spins winnings (Slots only) within 30 days. Max bet: 10% (min £0.1) of the free spins winnings or £5 (lowest applies)”

Now let’s break it down. To get the bonus, you need to make a first deposit of at least £10. You’ll get 133 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza, with a spin value of £0.10 (the spin bet will be set at £0.10).

Here’s where it gets interesting: ‘WR’ stands for ‘wagering requirement’. It is 60x your free spins winnings, or your ‘bonus balance.’ Whatever your bonus balance is, you’ll need to bet 60x this amount in total using your bonus balance to be able to withdraw your bonus winnings.

Let’s say you won £20 when you used your free spins. To be eligible to withdraw this money, you need to bet 60 times this amount in total using your bonus balance. 60 x 20 = £1,200.

It’s time to explain the bonus balance now. To recap, any money you win during free spins is your bonus balance. To meet the wagering requirement of £1,200, you will only be able to use your bonus balance– not any of your real money, phew! This effectively means that you need to reach £1,200 by carefully betting with the initial £20 in your bonus balance. Depending on luck and chance, this £20 can increase or decrease. 

For example, if you place a £1 bet and lose it, your balance will be £19. However, if you place a £1 bet and win with a 3x multiplier, it will increase to £23.

If you manage to reach the wagering requirement of £1,200 – remember you can only use your bonus balance to do this –  your bonus balance will be transferred to your real balance and you’ll be able to withdraw the £20.

However, if your bonus balance falls to zero you will be unable to make any more bets with it, and you will lose your bonus winnings.

Further Requirements

The next important item in the T&Cs of the offer we’re looking at is ‘Slots only’. This means you can use your £20 bonus balance (your winnings from the free spins) to play slot games only. You don’t have to stick to Big Bass Bonanza, but games like Slingo, blackjack and baccarat (among others) won’t count. The T&Cs also read ‘within 30 days’. This means you have 30 days to try to reach £1,200 with your bonus balance. If you don’t do it within this period, any bonus winnings will be lost.

The last part is “max bet: 10% (min £0.1) of the free spins winnings or £5 (lowest applies)”. This means that your maximum bet per spin when using your bonus balance must be 10% of your free spins winnings. 

Using our example, with free spins winnings of £20, 10% of this is £2. If you use your bonus balance to make bets of more than £2 (in this case), you will not be eligible to get a Slingo bonus payout.

Withdrawals

There are a few general withdrawal rules, which you can check out on the Slingo site. We won’t go through all of them now – information overload! – but we will highlight a few of the important ones:

• You will only be able to withdraw if you have made a successful real-money deposit before.
• Each payment method for withdrawal will have a minimum withdrawal amount. You will not be able to withdraw less than this amount.
• If you have an active bonus and you wish to withdraw, you will lose any winnings associated with that bonus.
